Matthew (he/him) was promoted to associate attorney in January of 2026. He joined the firm as a clerk in August 2025, after previously clerking for another Buffalo firm for a year. He is also a former legal extern with the Erie County Clerk’s Office.
Matthew’s practice is informed by his background in business, community-based organizations, and operational problem-solving. His experience with small businesses and nonprofits gives him a practical understanding of governance, financial oversight, employment issues, and the real-world consequences of legal decisions.
Matthew was selected as a WNY Prosperity Fellow during all three years of law school, a competitive fellowship focused on regional economic development and cross-sector collaboration. Through the fellowship, Matthew has gained a deep understanding of WNY’s economic infrastructure and built a strong network of leaders working to shape the region’s future.
As a student, Matthew has been deeply involved in community leadership, which he has also carried into his professional career. He founded the University at Buffalo’s food pantry, Blue Table, and later founded and served as president of UB’s Chapter of the Food Recovery Network, a part of the national non-profit dedicated to fighting food waste and addressing food insecurity. Additionally, Matthew worked for UB’s sustainability office developing policies and programs to address waste at the university. He currently serves as Treasurer of Big Big Table Community Café, Buffalo’s first pay-as-you-can café
Matthew approaches his legal work through a business lens and values finding solutions that work for his clients. Outside the office, Matthew enjoys baking for all types of events and plays recreational volleyball.
