Simon Honig

Simon Honig is an associate attorney who focuses on general business matters, transactions and compliance, and supports the firm’s expanding cannabis law practice.

He also plays an active role in the firm’s natural resources practice, representing landowners in negotiations involving solar and wind energy leases. He is committed to empowering landowners through education and advocacy, ensuring they understand their rights and secure favorable terms. Simon has presented educational seminars across Western New York through the Cornell Cooperative Extension, offering guidance on key terms and considerations in renewable energy agreements.

Simon began his tenure at Colligan Law as a law clerk in June 2023 and continues to bring thoughtful, client-centered support to every matter he handles.

Outside the office, Simon brings the same passion and discipline he applies to his legal practice to the rugby field. A rugby enthusiast since his time at SUNY Geneseo, he has traveled the world playing the sport, forging connections and memories that extend far beyond the pitch. His rugby journey has taken him as far as Israel, where he represented the United States at the 2022 World Maccabi Games, and Argentina, touring with the New York City-based Vanimals. These experiences have shaped his global perspective, strengthened his sense of teamwork, and deepened his appreciation for resilience; values that continue to inform his approach to client advocacy and collaboration.
